2nd place agin!
We really took it easy on the first two miles and then Norry and Geoff took off on the first downhill. Calvin Do was there and he ran out of sight before we were 1/2 mile into the race. But he missed the Melody Lane turn and ran all the way to Summit road and continued the race from there. He was DQ'd and Norry got the win. I ran pretty good I think. Norry is strong because though I could see him up ahead all along Summit Road I could never gain any ground on him. He finished in 1:00:2X I think. Geoff died at about the 4 or 5 mile mark and finished way back. I was alone (besides seeing Norry way up ahead of me) from the time we got back on Summit to the finish. Almost got hit by a car on the downhill finish. Was cutting tangents and a car came around the curve right at me, he had to swerve to avoid hitting me. Scared the crap out of me so after that I stayed to the right of the double yellows and did not cut any more tangents the rest of the way. Didn't want to cause someone to run off the road because I wanted to shave a few seconds off my finish time. How would that sound? "Sorry you had to run off the road and smash up your car, dude, but I ran a 1:00:26 instead of 1:00:29, that was worth it right?"
