So I meant this to be a diagnostic test of my knee. I put on my cushiest shoes and got on the softest surface I could think of running on a significant amount of time (the TM). If my knee stopped hurting or hurt less, then whatever is going on is impact related, otherwise it's some kind of muscular thing, probably tight muscles (I haven't stretched in ~6 months). Sure enough, it hurt just about the same as usual, so I'll bear the pain while I run and stretch before and after.

I still had to get the run in, and fartlek is pretty much the only way to make the TM palatable. I put the deck up to 0.5% grade, warmed up with 2.5 miles, 2 miles at 10.3mph, half mile easy, 2 miles at 10.3mph, half mile easy, 1 mile at 10.3mph, 1 mile easy cool down. Quit the last rep early because I was feeling tired, cut the cool down early because I'm a wimp. Probably should have kept going, but just didn't feel like it.
