Notes

Bit of a disappointing race, but in hindsight racing a half 2 weeks prior, followed by a hard run in Central Park 1 week prior, wasn't the best idea if I was going for a good result here. Was on pace for a PR up to around somewhere b/t mile 9 and 10 (needed a 7:21 avg pace for PR), but lost it after that. At that point, with the hills still to come, I knew it wasn't going to happen, so I lost a lot of focus, and my running became more like "jogging", as evidenced by the 8:55 and 9:12 back to back miles. Happy with my kick over the last .21 miles - averaged a 6:20 pace for that segment.

Nutrition - didn't drink as much as usual - didn't even finish my hand held bottle (24 oz), and for my second half in a row, didn't eat a GU (in hindsight, I should have forced one or two down, even if I wasn't feeling like eating).

Bottom line: too much racing / hard training efforts for a good time, not to mention, have to get back on the bike consistently to build my aerobic base!
