Notes

Tread workout after practice. Wanted to test the legs out a bit and figured the tread would be a good place to play around with pace. The Res fitness center was hot as fuck, sweating the minute I walked in so that made for an interesting run. Started off chill with a 7:00 to open up and then started to increase the speed .1 every minute until failure. I set the goal for roughly 11.0 (5:27 pace) which would put me right at the 30 minute mark but wasn't really sure what to expect fitness wise so just went with it. Mile splits were 7, 6:41, 6:13, 5:48, 5:45. I made it to 10.7 (5:36 pace) at the 27 minute mark and was starting to struggle and fall off so knew I wasn't going to be able to last much longer. Changed it to 30 second drops and got to 11 that way before stepping off the tread a bit after 4.5/ 29 minutes. Jumped back on and finished up through 5 miles to get the run done. Solid progression overall, pretty good last 3 miles and definitely was a good mentally challenging workout. Aerobically, didn't really notice any issues until I got sub 6 minute pace so that's good. At that point though, between the constant decrease in pace and the heat of the room, HR just kept shooting up (got up to 197) until I finally couldn't go any longer. I'm happy with it and it gives me a good idea of tempo paces for future workouts.
