1 mile time trial on the roads in 4:51.3, first goal of 2019 accomplished! Didn't just break 5 but smashed it. Changed the route from the normal mile repeats to avoid having so much incline (only had 28+ instead of the normal 55+). Did Started at a diff driveway, did a loop using needham and finished at brookline. Mapped it out before to make sure it a was a full mile. Pretty pumped with how it went- dropped to shorts, arm sleeves, and the old adios and felt nice and springy. Was a tad cold being 30 but I don't think it slowed me down too much. Really just went out after it and tried to ride that grind line as hard as I could, emphasized staying mentally focused the whole time on pushing. Especially when I made the final turn, tried to open up and cycle through the gears as much as I could. Very happy with the effort, still think I have more in the legs when the weather is nicer and only going to get better from here. Glad I could push myself and I think going outside was a benefit with the lack of turns and not worrying about splits and just focusing on running hard- although the cold wasn't ideal or the incline on the route.
