Notes

Solid workout to kick off the week. Fought the normal morning demons getting out of bed and getting out the door. Brain was very much fighting doing a workout but won that battle, did my 20 min of prehab, and got out the door in the next%s w/ the goal of doing 3x 2mi repeats w/ 1 mi jog between. (1 mi warmup/1 mi cooldown).

Great morning for it- cooler (58) and humid. Calf was pretty sore as usual, not limping a ton by .5 but can tell its affected by diff cadences. After seeing it on this run realized that the quicker the cadence, the better it is although it still was deff tight/noticeable on the run.

The goals were roughly (HM pace, 10k pace, 5k pace) IE: (controlled, pushing, hard). Think I executed perfectly. First 2 went smoothly- 11:20 (5:44/5:36) cutdown, felt very controlled and smooth, was surprised how quick it was tbh. The 2nd 2 mi was tougher than expected- 10:53 (5:29/5:24) but also could be because there is slightly more variation and turns, plus the hairpin turn which just messed w/ rhythm. Deff worked pretty hard on the 2nd mile. The final 2 mile was deff tough- got out after it hard and just tried to keep pressing. Brain was fighting to stop after 1 mi but just kept grinding and pushed to finish things out. Really happy with it- 10:33 neg split (5:18/5:15). Probs fastest I've run a 2 mile this year potentially? And at the end of a workout at 6am in the morning. Easy jog home to finish the 10.

If I can get this weight stuff figured out and heal the calf, I'm actually getting alot more fit but needs to not feel so tedious all the time. Core after.
