Notes

This year has been tough. It has been the busiest, most stressful, and most challenging year of life. From a running perspective, had a great first 5 months and then after we hit the whole buying house thing/summer/calf flared up, been tough ever since to find a rhyhtm.

The calf had constantly be hit or miss, work was a mental drain, ballooned in weight- just tough. However- the calf seems to have turned a corner. Not 100% but seems to be trending in a direction that is positive. Have been able to do the majority of my runs recently w/o Ibuprofen or Sombra and no pain or limping.

I need a fresh start- mentally, I keep falling into this viscous cycle of setting goals, having a good week, having a setback, and falling on my ass. I need an entire mindset change.

"Back to the basics"- happiness comes from discipline. Plain and simple, My success in the past has come from discipline- working hard, putting in the miles, doing my homework, etc. I seem to forget at times that the success I had took a lot of hard work and discipline and I need to get back to that attitude of growth. I think this will help ease my mental burden and get me back to being hopeful vs. the dark cloud that work has cast.

Ultimately, I'm going to use November as a kick off point. Really going to try and hone in on daily doing things that will improve me mentally, physically, and spiritually. I have a list of goals on my phone and going to take it one day at a time with the end goal of being in a much healthier position by the start of 2024.
