Week 7, Day 2
Was out late last night due to Freedom and also strained the inner thigh muscle at the event, so today was a good bit harder than normal and I was not able to run the entire time. I also tried a new technique at the beginning which caused me to run a much faster pace than usual and I had a hard time recovering from that. My .25 mile split was under 2 minutes, which for me is way too fast at this point in my training.
Had to fight the battle of the mind a lot. I really wanted to quit less than 3 minutes into the run, but I stayed with it and eventually had 3 segments: 14 minute run, 2 min walk, run to the end (a bit over 10 and a half minutes).
I wish I had not stopped running at the 14 minute mark, but that 2 minute walk saved me and I still finished close to the 10 min/mile pace.
