With the boy. I think he has a taste for racing now and it seems like he wants to do this more. His goal was sub 20 and mine was 21:42. Rushed out of the house so we were not as prepared with 2 sets of everything. I gave him the gloves I wanted to wear but I kept the watch. Flat course. The only issues was the end when we weren’t sure to turn or not. Connor was way ahead of me by this point and I slowed way down and asked where to go. No response. Asked again. No response. I decided to circle back around and take the left. Turns out this was a good move but it cost me 10 -15 seconds at least. Came through at 21:50 which sadly is my best 5k this year. Connor missed the turn and finished at 18:05 and he was told it was 2.8. He would have a shot at sub 20 without a watch or training. Regardless, he came in 1st for his AG 14-under and the nearest kid was in the 24s so no one got ripped off. Good day with the boy. He had travel practice with me last night and went to the gym yesterday and hit the hit stair machine. With training he could be scary.
