Gebung

Notes

The first 7 was at podcast pace with DP, Pauley, Fritzy, Seton, and McLovin. This was intentionally slow for the first hour and just sucked. For whatever reason the long slow runs are hard for me because I never get into any real rhythm. The good news is that the water that I left in the blue St Thomas bag on Gebung was still there since late October. I had more than enough bottled water so there was a fresh one there with the seal still good so that was helpful. Just after turning around I feel something at my feet and it’s a yellow lab trying to get my attention. Not barking but just wanting me to run with him. That was pretty cool. After 7 (and now with music) the pace dropped pretty easily and I got into a nice rhythm but it felt much slower than it was. After 11 I started to feel the distance and got tired but managed a decent 12th mile. Mile 13 up Shaw’s Ridge was brutal and then I just tried to hang on because the last mile was very hard. Managing the slow build up and making progress.
