Notes
Back from Mexico city in one piece. Interesting trip. The purpose this morning was simply to get the lead out after 4 intentional days off. I'm not sure it really helped me at all but it was worth a try. It was the first time in a while I was looking forward to run. Immediately felt the knee be cranky and the quad was acting up. Got into a rhythm early and about half mile in I was running an easy 8. Decided to open it up a little for the last quarter and felt good. Pulled back a little and turned around at the 1.57 mark. Just before 2 miles in my breathing started to get a little weird and then I just kept it fairly even the rest of the way. This didn't feel easy (especially the last 1+) and it seems like a particularly bad sign for Sunday. I really shouldn't be racing because what's the point? But I'm going to try and enjoy myself and start off easy. Anything under 21 will be a miracle and I may even be lucky to keep this under 7 min pace. I'm going to figure out a way to have fun Sunday. No Steakhouse Sunday night either. Happy the boy made All stars but good lord...practice on Father's Day? WTF.
