Long/hill run. Blackwell hills with the NV varsity guys this morning. What a workout by them today. They would do 1 hill then a 10 minute recovery jog. I did 1 hill before they started, then did all 8 with them. Not as tough as usual with no tempo beforehand, but still a solid workout. I averaged about 51-52 seconds for most, then PR'd on the hill with a 49 on the last one. The crazy thing was for most of it the top varsity guys were about 1 second in front of me then on the last one my legs locked up hard at the top and they finished about 3 seconds in front of me. It was not just one person, but a whole pack. Incredible! In all the years I have run at NV or been a summer coach, that was the best blackwell hill workout I have ever seen. 9 hills today was very solid and the pace I was going felt tough, but was very relaxed. I was very consistent and really enjoyed the workout. The difference between running these hills tired and fresh is night & day.
