Notes

3 mile tempo @ 6:19 avg. More humid but faster. New hypothesis: my gait is uneven because of my history of right leg injuries, stemming ultimately from a weak right hip. Derivately, my right calf is also weak. When I begin running, my right calf is stiff, so I favor my left leg. Once it loosens up after a few blocks, I shift over to spending more time on my right leg because my right hip is too weak to drive my right knee forward as quickly as my left one. Over time, this hip weakness has caused injuring to my right calf, which is overworked to compensate for the weakness is my right hip. Weakness in both my right hip and (from injuries) my right calf compound the L-R imbalance, which gets worse as my hip (especially, but also my calf) on the right side get tired over the course of a run. Solution: strengthen my right hip and obliques, as well as right calf. Single-leg squats can't hurt too. Will begin tonight.
