Actually played at Ryde need to add the ground. Looking at their team, stronger than the bunch we beat 3 weeks ago, probably since 3rd division has the bye this week. but we didnt get any stronger players, and without rossco...so worried at the start. And steve harvey got fallen on in the first tackle pretty much, and had to go off. turned out he had a fractured bone in his ankle, and has been at the hospital and all. poor guy, might be out for 4 to 6 weeks. but we went 2 up against the way of the game I have to say. first goal, we got a break, and ball went across to chris k who ran to the right and pumped the shot in from near the top. then a bit later I got the ball inside the 25 on the left, and ran to the right, passed a longish ball in to the right post which hit ross johnson who popped it acorss and past the goalie to glen who tapped it in. looking back I was holding the ball up waiting to see where it should go, and I swear I dont know if I saw ross or just went for the region, but damn it worked well! then they scored one, and 2 to 1 at half time. it was a good short corner. Then after 15 or so they scored a good field goal after we failed to clear a 16, but we then had some of the play and got a short, this time I took first hit, chris trapped, I dragged it past the runner I think, then hit it ok but not super across to the right post, just inside, it went up of the postie and in. Yay, havent got one for a while and turned out to be the winning goal. Team dave l, dave w, mark b, steve, annie, ben, new ben, damo, me, glen, chris k, and ross johnson. and rhys also had a bit of a run, but he shouldnt have in the circumstances. one dirnk after the game and home for hte clebraions. smile. oh points 3 to chris k, 2 to ben and 1 tonew ben.
