Notes
It's supposed to be in the single digits and teens tonight and tomorrow (feels like negative teens), so there is a good chance that the roads and sidewalks will be frozen over. Just my luck - my ice spikes aren't supposed to get in until tomorrow afternoon. :p
With the potentially for bad weather, I decided to get in my tempo run today. 1+ mile warm up, then comfortably hard lap, then cool down. Comfortably hard started to feel just hard near the end - around the same time the wind and rain started to pick up.
Distance -- Time -- Pace -- Function
1.00 -- 10:18-- 10:18 -- Warm up
0.64 -- 5:59 -- 9:24 -- Warm up
1.84 -- 15:51 -- 8:37 -- Comfortably Hard
0.55 -- 5:15.6 -- 9:30 -- Cool Down
I had a slightly longer warm up this time (1.64 versus 0.89), which I think contributed to a faster lap time (8:37 versus 9:00).
Overall, it was a pretty rough run, but these types of runs will make me stronger both mentally and physically.
