So that interval workout from two weeks ago, yeah, that workout can suck it. This was so much better. My plan was to ease into the 2mile intervals at 10:40-11:00 and then shoot for 5:15-20 for the miles with the same rest. The 2mile sets included the pool loop (with the hill in the first mile of the first set and in the second mile of the second set) and the miles were done on the road by the lake. I was right on 5:15 pace through half of the last mile and was feeling smooth, so I decided to drop pace a little bit more (within reason). It felt good to hit this workout exactly as I planned it. Everything felt comfortably hard until the last interval, which I think is a good indicator of my fitness. Hopefully I can maintain this for a few more weeks. The weather this evening was beautiful.

Note: I was originally going to change into my road racing flats for the mile intervals, but I decided to just do them in my trainers at the last minute, as switching probably would have bled too far into my rest. No big deal. I might just do some striders in them at some point this week. I wanted to get back into them to redevelop a feel for them before the half.
