After feeling really strange and out of it for the last few days, this was a pretty big shock in terms of how I felt. This felt pretty amazing! I didn't really feel distressed or tired until around 4.5-5 miles into things, and even then it never felt ridiculously taxing by the end. I haven't been able to hold this type of average pace in a long time either. I kept things under control as much as I could for the first two miles and then I just started to drop pace and went with it. I went after it a little in the last mile, but made sure to keep things in range (5:35-45). I think I just needed two days to really recover from that tough long run/progression on Sunday. Hopefully this taper gets me ready to blast this half next Sunday. I am feeling pretty strong.
I did the first two miles of this on the pool loop + road thing that I had been doing my 2mile intervals on. Then I went out on Little Buffalo road out to 34 until I hit 4.5 and turned back at that point so I could have two miles to cool down.
