Notes

Well, this was fucking interesting. I knew there were storms in the forecast, so I got out as quickly as I could after work (they weren't supposed to show up until after 7 P.M.). Things were fine for the warm up and for the first 3-4 miles of the tempo, and then the lightning showed up. It chased me for pretty much the whole last mile. I wasn't really able to stop after it was over, as lightning was literally shooting over my head, so I had to pretty much take off for home right after the workout was over. I really didn't get to cool down, as I averaged about 6 flat pace outrunning the storm, so I ended up getting on the stationary bike and going easy for 10 minutes to at least get something.

The workout itself felt pretty good, aside from the humidity! Things felt comfortably hard and I always felt in control. I was pretty much going off of adrenaline the last mile (being chased by potential death will do that to you), so that explains the quicker fifth mile -- plus I was going downhill. Otherwise, things were exactly where they needed to be pacewise.

I should have worked out in the morning, but I wanted to give my hamstring extra time to recover. The good news is it never hurt, save for some mild tightness/achiness in the second mile. I'm just going to hit some nice, easy recoveries the next two days and things should be fine.
