Decided on a whim to do my fartlek workout today (crazy weather is coming, plus it just worked better with my schedule). I did the workout itself on the F&M track, which had a little bit of snow/slush on one turn, but was clear otherwise.
Overall, this was solid. The on cycles never felt too hard and I kept the off cycles brisk. I went right into things off a 2 mile warm up, so that's why the paces fluctuate a bit. I was shooting to go off feel/effort alone, but I felt like I had some good turnover going on the quicker segments. I did have some occasional pain in my glute/hamstring/hip (same shit as post-Boston, and on the week Emily got mono), and that bugged me a little on the cool down. Going to keep an eye on it and possibly take some down time if it's still bad on tomorrow's run. For now, though, this was a reasonable return to workouts after Steamtown!
