I was surprised how solid this workout was. I had to do things on the road since I wasn't able to get onto a track, but it didn't seem to affect things too much. I was absolutely perfect for splits; I hit all the ranges I wanted for each pair of intervals and I was actually spot on consistent up until the 400s. The workout went 10k pace for the miles (5:10-12), 5k pace for the 800s (2:25-30), and mile pace for the 400s (65-70). I will take it! I felt just as I imagined I would: the miles felt pretty smooth and comfortably challenging, the 800s were pretty tough at the pace I hit them, and the 400s were just a test to see what I had left. I am happy with this mainly because of the short rest; I have never really done faster, shorter interval work with such a short rest before in my life, so I'm learning and adapting as I go. But I seem to be responding well so far. Hopefully this pays off later!
