This was a pretty solid race, considering I was on tired legs! I felt really comfortable through 5k. My third and fourth miles were a little slower than my other miles for some odd reason, but other than that I was consistently right on 5:20. KU's course is absolutely longer than 8k (my watch beeped at 5 miles before we even hit the final stretch), so apparently I actually ran the equivalent of like a 26:45. Either way, I was mostly happy with how this felt (especially after last weekend's "race"). It's really hard to establish momentum on this course, so it is what it is. This will make me stronger.

I double checked my splits and the course has to be long. It doesn't add up otherwise. My splits for 5 miles were 5:19, 5:20, 5:28, 5:27, and 5:20, which averages at 5:22 pace. My time, if applied to an 8k, is an average of 5:28 pace, which I hit once as my slowest spit. That makes no sense unless my watch is totally fucked or the course is long. And though my watch isn't the best of the best, it's not that far off.
