ECHAR LA FOCA!!!!
Hiked up Volcan Quetrupillan starting in the wee hours of the morning. Ended up packing all of my things into my pockets and on my body to fit into my pack for the day. This was one of the most amazing and difficult things I've done in my entire life. Had three guides, Claudio, ChaCha and Ernesto, one lead, one followed and one ice picked his way up for our footsteps. The night before she told us to "mentally prepare" and I was like bitch please. But, now I understand. 60mph winds outside the tree line and blowing snow. An extremely large group of people ski touring and snowboarding also going up because of a race (which is literally the most insane thing). Outside of the tree line my pants were falling off, my helmet came off twice and we had to stop to put on clamp on to get over the ice shoots, all was possible thanks to ChaCha. By the time they let us put on our clamp ons, I thought they were going to make us go back down because conditions were so bad (LOL). Ended up summiting after what felt like forever and didn't sled down (TG) because of icy conditions. Fell about a million times once back into the tree. Claudio told me I was losing my dignity, in which I responded I lost that a long time ago. ChaCha had to help Court down bc she was so bad at it. I haven't laughed so long and hard in a long time. Seriously one of the best days of my life. Burgers at Mamas y Tapas after.
