Notes
Definitely one of the most fun GLR experiences I have had. We lost a team, we lost some (wo)men, RIP Gadz, but we got out there and the 8.5 degenerates of Gadzilla got it fucking done with a 5th place finish. Everyone put in some hard efforts (beer, mileage and foot pain train), we didn't sleep a whole lot but we did have a good time. Both teams were within a few minutes of each other the whole weekend and doing a good job of working together/chasing each other.
Ended up seeing team 51 drive down the runners road (v dangerous). Emma and I were thinking after we saw the official mark his "official" clipboard that they might be down on their luck, thus us up (?) on ours. That helped maintain high efforts throughout day 3 and lead to a very exciting treat (plus gatorade) at the end of the day.
Stayed Sunday night and happy that I did. Definitely one of the best weekends of the whole year, full of some of my favorite things. Also, I believe, it's my fastest GLR ever on some of the least amount of training (for the last 1.5 mo or so). Looking forward to carrying some of this momentum into the next few months of training.
