So hot! I was a little dehydrated, wanted to stash more water but it didn't make sense and I didn't have any. Still, I only moderately crusted with salt and kept the inner ear plm at bay with posture (10 more miles would have done me in). The mix was 1:1 scoops Heed and SE. In a 20 oz. bottle this is just a hair too rich. Right now, 3 hours later I am constantly parched and drank about a gallon of water so far, and my inner ear problem is a problem still. The run went well though. Actually cramped up in the last 50 yards, quads. I was soooo disoriented half an hour later, nauseous and unsure of what to drink, water or recoverite? Tomorrow morning a visit to Dr. Deb for an adjustment and advice. I felt very very strong through about 10 miles. Then the walking sections messed me up. On one I came upon a group of 20-30 hikers, senior citizens! Scrambled past them up the Cherry St. Gun Club shale. I nimbly scampered up the rocks and paid for it. All in all it was a very good performance. Walked half of the 2 hills at mile 5, Bush Notch. Then had to walk the rockpile down from White Lightning ridge, mile 10. Very limited walking through the blowdowns then up Rock Valley ridge. Hopping blowdowns really saps the strength. All my rejuvenating efforts at an efficient stride kept me going until the end, brief walk on the hill before 202, then good form to the end. Dehydration messed me up again though. Hard to imagine chugging more stuff. Splits, Bush 5M-43:00/8:36; Comcast 6M 56:00/13:00 mile walking; Yeti Bluff 8M 1:18:00/2M at 11:00 running uphill; Cherry St. 12M 2:14:00/4M 14:00 in the toughest terrain with minimal walking; Elks 17M/3:10:56 Last 5M/11:24 with a short walk up the hill before 202.
