Notes

7:30, 7:30, 7:30, 8, 8:30, 9:00, mile 9 - 1:16. So sore in the first 3 miles, cramping in my calves. This hasn't happened before. Luckily I had my endurolytes and at mile 3 I downed some, by the end of the mile I was feeling better. Now another problem. My foot is numb, my right foot. I cinched my shoes up for some stupid reason, just before the start. This is an uphill race! There is no need to worry a bout shoe slippage in an uphill race. So I stopped and loosened the shoe. Not enough, I could barely run to the 5 mile water stop, wher I untied, thoroughly loosened every eyelet and retied. I lost over a min to this bologna. Totally lost my rhythm. by mile 6 I felt better and actually started racing, pulling ahead. I did not walk this year, and finished pretty strong. Only two sprinters passed me on the long climb, I passed many in the last mile. Very hot and humid, probably a valid excuse for being a minute slower than last year, but I'm disappointed.
