I did the Avalon 50 three weeks ago, and I've had some lingering hamstring pain, so I had no goal and no idea how it would go. I felt good most of the first half, but started to feel beat, so I started walking whenever I felt like it, which turned out to be a lot. Then in the 22nd mile I saw I could get it in under 5 hours. It was closer than I thought it would be. Hamstrings, especially right, but both, very sore and tight post-race.
