Notes
I had no plans on running this race today, but the kids decided they were both going to run the 5K after the kids mile so I figured I would hop in. Mike was there so I knew the pace would be solid. I hit the mile at 5:16 and was about 7 seconds back. I was really feeling it early, but fell into a groove just after the mile. I started to slowly catch up to Mike after 2 and passed him with about 800 to go. It did feel good to be racing again. I thought I had sworn off 5K races, but it was pretty fun to be out and competing no matter the distance. The family all ran well and Emily totally impressed me with a 25:30 effort. The course was short (approx 3 miles) but that is a big PR for her.
