Here are my splits to the best of my memory.

1 - 5:37

2 - 11:17 (5:40)

3 - 16:52 (5:35)

4 - 22:12 (5:20)

Felt super comfortable to start. We started closer to 6 minute pace and I picked it up at the 1/2 mile point. The first half was relatively down slope and I felt really relaxed and smooth (even saw a hermit thrush!). At the turn around I could feel fatigue already in my legs and aerobic. At the 5 mile mark I was definitely tired and just wanted to hold on. Considering the last mile was the hardest I feel like I my splits were pretty good - the disparity in the times more due to terrain than going out too fast or straining myself too early in the race.

Not where I would have liked to have been (2-minutes slower than I've run a 10k), but a good start and promising for the summer. I'm sure that I can get my legs and lungs back quickly and start doing more speed.
