Notes

Home for the weekend, which means I get to run at Swallow Cliff. This was a good run, a tough run, but I'm happy with how it went. I did somewhat of a Fartlek over the course of it, partly to get some work at marathon pace, partly to keep myself preoccupied.

1-2-3-4-5-6-6-5-4-3-2-1 with equal recovery. Around half way through it, I was moving pretty well, but by the time I got to 4 on the way down I was pretty beat. I was around 12 or so at that point. Really the last couple were just as a way to get back on track for easy pace because I was slowing down. The second time I hit Big Bertha was literally the last 'on' portion and I was so tired that getting up it was a real chore. Luckily, there were some people hiking up it and they were giving me some encouragement, which was really helpful -- sometimes humans are cool.

After that, the rest of the run was just finishing up. I stopped someone for some water at 1:45:0 right after Bertha, he seemed perturbed but whatever. Pretty tired when I got back.

Pace was faster than last ~17 miler and this was a much more difficult place to run. Those hills add up and the second time I hit the hill stage was when my fartlek started crumbling.

This week was harder than last week because the accumulation of everything just added up and I just felt tired. I'm looking forward for the next few weeks being super flexible and catch up on sleep. I'll run whatever Emma wants to do tomorrow and be good.

Note: Spot on my foot where the tread is starting to wear down where I stepped on a rock multiple times and that hurt a lot, gonna keep an eye on it.
