Pretty good, pretty happy with this.

Today was sort of like a GLR-prep workout w/ Marathon miles and pace. Jeff wanted me to do the set of 400s (800s) and then rest like 15-20 minutes, sort of let that fatigue build up in my legs and then get into the tempo. I worked a bit harder on the 800s than we had anticipated (because the hills were involved and longer reps), but I do not think it made too much of a difference. I did this tempo *watchless* - I had my watch on and was splitting it, but did not look at it. Well, I did after Mile 4. I knew I was moving faster than I should have been and I think I kind of freaked out a little bit and all of a sudden started working harder than I was the minute before (although I was running with the wind at my back). Last mile was into the wind (not much, but enough to feel it) - just sort of regrouped and came back to MP to finish.

Happy because this is one of the better tempos that I have ever ran and the fact that I settled in at marathon pace without even really trying has me at ease. I just gotta watch out that I don't drop those random sub-6 miles in because I'll pay for that.

Took a caffeine pill this morning around 5:45. Worked nicely without the acidity that coffee brings in, although it definitely churned my stomach. Legs are tired, but a good tired.
