VO2 Max Set

4 x 1/2 mi repeats - odds were run at LT Threshold or what felt like that, evens were run faster or 20 sec faster vs odds.

I actually achieved running the even's at 20 sec faster vs the odds but did or could not run these consistent as there was a wide discrepancy from 1 to 3 & from 2 to 4 in terms of pacing. The Garmin did not capture any HR data so missing that fr these. Ran these starting in front of PF Changs down Phillips Ct Pl & over & into cinema lot for 2x figure 8 loops. Ran into the wind on the loops running back in the cinema lot & the headwind increased as I went along.

On #1 I felt sluggish but in rhythm (this felt like 9 min/mi pace). Also each loop in the cinema lot smelled horrific as I noticed later they were shoveling raw sewage (it smelled so bad for the entirety of the cinema lot despite the wind that the foul smell took my mind off any pain I felt). On #2 I was able to rev up the speed. On #3 I ran this under control & avoided the urge to run any faster (ran this 20 sec/mi faster vs #1 & only slightly slower vs #2 - in looking at metrics the difference between #3 & #2 was a marginally less stride length as cadence & GCT were similar). On #4 I was able to push faster (stride length exactly the same as #2 but cadence faster & GCT much less). I was pleasantly surprised I ran #4 faster than 8 min pace as usually when I start a workout cycle it has taken longer.
