VO2 Max Interval

Goal: 4 x 1k @7:20 pace p mi w/40% recovery in between.

Actual: 2k (7:13 pace) /1k (7:12 pace) /1k (7:11 pace) /1k (7:04 pace) @7:10 pace w/approx 40% recovery.

Had zero expectations given this would be my first workout in over 5 months (or first sustained effort below aerobic). Concerned about how my right foot w/the PF would feel (I could feel it during the strides), how this would impact my Adductors (whether running on treadmill alters form and puts more pressure there) and more so about dying. Have not run anything over 1/2 mile under 7:40 pace other than the final 1/2 mile at last Tue's AT Tempo at 7:19 pace. Started out and 7:13 did not feel bad and decided to extend to 2k. Jogged 2 min of recovery and could feel the lack of strength (actually afraid to jog any more since I did not want to expend more strength). #2 was ok and did not feel "fast". Settled in and pushed a little on #3. Was sweating like crazy but I think it was because the room was really humid. Pushed #4 and had a good result w/a big negative split and felt strong. There were times I would feel "twinges" in right Adductor & I would make an adjustment by bringing hips higher, neutral back and using glutes more and the "twinge" would go away. I actually feel tired post-workout as this is the first real meaningful workout in 5 months.
