Cut-Down Set

The first set (200m at LT pace) felt terrible for the first half, felt gassed. Was going to put on Perf Trainers starting with the 1000m but put them on for the 1500m at 10k and what a difference (felt easy/smooth). The 1000m at 5k felt great (was planning on a 6:32 but bumped this to 6:29 and had alot left in the tank). The first 500 felt a little strained, but that loosened my legs to attack the last 500. Interesting AHR/MHR (the LT and 10k heart rates are essentially in the same range, VO2Max in the right range, 2nd 500m my HR improved vs. 1st 500m despite being much faster).

Significantly improved upon same set (ran 2500m at LT vs. 2000m) three weeks ago (3 weeks ago: LT: 6:56; 10k: 6:42; 5k: 6:30; 500m: 6:11; 500m: 5:55 (and AHR and MHR significantly improved).

Goal this till Saturday (race) is to limit mileage to 7.5 mi thru Thu, run ~6.5 mi easy and then up to a mile of strides, cut back on the wts, stretch each day, and as the week goes on I'll get more rest, be more recovered and put on a good performance!
