Notes

"Michigan" Set

Goal: 1 mi @8k (8 min pace), 1k @VO2Max (7:47),1k @VO2Max (7:47). 1/2 mi at Tempo (8:06 pace) after each one. ~ 3 min recovery.

Misjudged time so I did the first 3 of these on the treadmilll and then the final 3 in very oppressive 72 dew point conditions outside (1/2 on parking lot & 1/2 on trail). Ran the first two w/the Asics Gel Flux. Disappointed I could not go one notch faster on the treadmill for #1 but running by feel. The 1/2 mi felt easier and this was only one notch slower vs. #1. The 1k @ VO2Max felt less of an effort vs. last week but did not feel confident ratcheting up pace (wore the lighter Cortanna's). Then Y closed and ran outside. Totally screwed up w/the watch on the 1/2 mi at tempo (again). Ran the 1K at VO2Max on feel alone and forget to look at watch to figure out start point to calculate 1k so misjudged distance (this felt like an effort). I could really feel the final 1/2 mi at tempo (this felt less of an effort vs. #5 but I tried to make up for the shortfall on #5 & really began to feel this (in my core) over the final 1/10th of a mile). On all of the runs outside I could really feel the heat get to me & then realized that the heat adjustment is about 22-23 seconds p mi which means I ran these much much faster.
