Attempted a back-to-back again (last time 3 wks ago). Left foot felt much better today (felt like it did after 36 hours of rest which is significant and hopeful sign this is now beginning to heal). Cycled 25 min, fast walked 7/10ths of a mile & drills prior. Started much later as I locked keys in my car at Whole Foods just prior and had to break in w/wire hanger. I thought it was cooler today but when I started it felt warmer, and gradually "hot". Legs felt tired and felt like I was 300 lbs -- started to look at watch before first mile and at that point I could feel this run required much more energy and effort, at 2 miles I was really really sweating, entire body felt super tired and stopped to vent heat at 2.55 miles. Removed shirt & felt cooler but felt like a super struggle. Actually surprised that pace was consistent since end of mile 3 and mile felt fatigued. Can start to see the gradual fitness improvements that are translating in improvements in pace (it feels almost exactly the same -- a struggle). Good sign was left foot hurt far less, did not get to that "worrisome ache" stage. Very soon I'll top 20 miles and begin to lose weight which is the next milepost.
