VO2Max Blend Interval

Goal: 4 x [3/4 mi @5k pace (6:30), 2 min jog/walk, 300m@Mile pace (6:05 pace); 4 min jog/walk)]

Actual: 4 x [3/4 mi @6:29 pace, 300m@6:01 pace]. Overall: 6:24 pace.

Felt solid throughout this set and a very significant improvement vs. the prior time I ran this 6 weeks ago (then it was 4 x 1500m at 6:43 avg and 4x300m at 6:14 avg). On the first interval I did feel a bit winded at the start and the HR data confirms this. My HR shot up to 172 within 53 seconds, and then at 2:00 shot down to 145 and stayed down in the high 140's thereafter. After that, HR was very steady reaching 156/157 during the 5k segments. Was surprised that I was much faster on the 300m segments where 6:07 pace felt slow. On the last cycle switched into Newton Distance Racers w/out any orthotics and the pace felt so much easier.
