Hybrid Workout
4 mile progressive run + 2 x 1/2 mi VO2Max
Goal was to run a progressive 4 mile run and then on tired legs go 2 x 1/2 mi at VO2Max. I ran the 4 miler progressive in the windy conditions all in Phillips Pl. Started at hotel ran down to other side looped small lot 2x then looped RH in entrance & repeated this 3x (thru mi 2: felt somewhat heavy legged running this). looped small lot 1x then out/around & into cinema lot for 9x figure 8 loops to finish (mi 3 & 4: tried to purposely pick up pace but I did not feel strong running this). Ran the 2 x 1/2 mi (recovered with a very very slow 2/10th mi jog prior) - felt really tired running these which was the goal and had to focus fr from 200m thru 600m so as not to lose focus or give into feeling tired. Felt "rust" on the first and even though I felt more tired on #2 felt more efficient (8:28 pace/mi; 8:18 pace/mi).
