Easy Run

59 deg, windy (10mph headwind fr mile 1 to 3 and over last mile). Did 2x drills (18x running butt kicks + 8x side leg stretchs + 9x high knees -- felt better doing these). Started out w/no pain and then felt some along right Adductor after about 30 seconds (for 10-15 seconds). After 1/2 mile again felt the "spring" go fr my legs but concentrated on cadence and short stride and got it back -- for the first time this felt "easy" (i.e., less of an effort). This route featured 2 very short but very very steep ascents and then a 1/2 mile climb in mile 2 (wanted to see how legs responded to this especially towards the end). Felt ok going up the very steep ascents but could also feel I don't have any "strength" in legs, but recovered well after (the climb up and in mile 3). Really concentrated on cadence and stride in mile 3 to reinforce a rhythm that I could build on -- did the same in mile 4 but somewhere in mile 5 I could start to feel the "wheels come off" (more of an effort to keep the same rhythm vs in mile 3 and 4). Only reason I can think of why the final 4/10ths of a mile was slower was the strong 10-15 mph headwind (the final 1.4 miles felt like the same effort as the final 1.25 miles yesterday but today's pace was off by almost 20 sec p mi & the course was the same?).
