Easy Run

Started fr Harris Teeter in Myers Pk. Felt really tired & really sore fr yesterday's workout. The pace reflects exactly how I felt as in the beginning I felt terrible to worse & wanted to quit constantly. In addition it was relatively warm.

Started at Harris Teeter & ran down Providence left on Cherokee right on Biltmore right on Colvile left on Providence right on Beverly Dr (mi 1 - legs felt terrible, felt really tired), up Beverly right on Sherwood down & left on Beverly up & left on Providence & left into Church (mi 2 - this felt worse than mi 1 as I had never run here & it was a series of steep inclines & drops, every incline I was almost panting & legs were burning). Ran into Church & given how terrible I felt I was concerned I would simply stop every 1/2 mi if I continued to run on the road, so decided to go into "mindless mode" & run loops in the Church parking lot (approx 220m) for which "boredom" triumphed. Ran 7+ laps of parking lot (mi 3), then another 7+ laps of parking lot (mi 4 - I could feel myself getting stronger & getting a 2nd wind which the pace reflects), then to minimize boredom expanded the loop (to ~300 yds) to include another section & when I do this I seem to run faster because my mind gets challenged w/a different loop (mi 5 - increase in pace), ran the loop a different way twice & then crossed street to Colville & Biltmore (mi 5 thru 5.51 - when I hit 5 mi I could feel more fatigue set in & grinded this out). Stretched & took shirt off (sweating like crazy). Resumed up Biltmore left on Cherokee right on Providence to finish (final 1/2 mi - all uphill - did not feel especially strong but form felt intact).
