Speed Set

Goal: 3 x 500m (7:20 pace) / 3 x 1/4 mi (7:10 pace) / 3 x 300m (7:00 pace)

Actual: 5 x 500m (7:14 pace); 2 x 1/4 mi (7:08 pace); 2 x 300m @6:34 pace

Got to Y so late that I had no chance to run anything on treadmill so all of these were in parking lot where I've measured off these distances. Also concerned that every time I do this set my injury gets worse. Felt much stronger than expected running the 500m (something that is uncomfortable for me & where I normally can't run these fast & there is always a significant difference between running 500m vs 300m) so extended fr 3 to 5 and descended & felt strong on #5. For whatever reason #6 (1/4 mi) was a real dud but then picked up pace on #7. Changed shoes to Newtown Distance Racer and felt much stronger and faster running 300m although felt really "gassed" on #9 (also made mistake of leaving in the soles so had my cirrhotics on top of the sole (which made these shoes much heavier).
