Long Run

Fast walked & did drills prior. Felt tired, sore but no real hamstring discomfort. Relatively extremely warm (71 deg at 10 pm during Feb!) w/a strong headwind & stronger gusts over the first 1/2 of the run. Started fr Whole Foods & ran down Sharon around Walgrens (mi 1 into the headwind), ran down Morrison looping into ea office building & then ran up to and down Rexford to Coca Cola building (mi 2 all into strong headwind), retraced route up Rexford over to Morrison down & then climbed up to Barclay Downs & right up to Fairview (mi 3), fought headwind down Piedmont Row & then ran loops around Carnegie. Not sure how or why I slowed down so badly (1/2 was into a crazy headwind, 1/2 wasn't) but miles 4 -7.3 were running around Carnegie and I felt good/strong & this felt exactly like mi 1. Was sweating because of how hot it was. At around 7 mi began to feel hamstring discomfort, looked at watch for the first time and saw that mi 6 was 9:10 (how?) and then picked up pace over next 3 mi & wind was at my back. The rest was all uphill - up Piedmont Row & then across into Ruth Chris around Panera (mi 7 - tailwind), up Fairview & looped around the back of Zoe's (mi 8) & ran up Fairview & stopped at 8.5 mi as I felt more discomfort in hamstring. Stretched & did drills (sweating profusely because of heat). Resumed up Fairview & back to Whole Foods (did not feel I had the strength vs. last week). And again, last week I ran 30 sec p mi faster & dumb founded how I can run this slow today?
