AT Tempo Run

Goal: 5 mi @8:20 pace running progressively faster at the end (had no real clue because the humidity shot way up today)

Actual: 5.25mi @8:09 pace running last 2.25mi significantly faster [7:54 pace/mi adj for heat]

The weather conspired against me as the humidity shot way up (dew pts in the 40's & then today 64) - adjusted for heat I exceeded expectations (& the heat did impact this run in mi 2 & 3). Started at Whole Foods & ran left on Ashley left on Sharon left into far entrance of Church looped around lower lot then out near entrance (mi 1 - could feel the hotter temps, felt like I was having to expend much more of an effort than I should & concerned I could not maintain this after 3 miles), ran up Sharon right on Rutherford left on Sulkirk left on Sharon left again on Rutherford left on Sulkirk (mi 2 - had to slow myself down & try to feel a pace where I could last, started to sweat like crazy & could feel stress running uphill), ran up/down Sulkirk right on Sharon past Y left into Elementary School around & into back parking lot (mi 3 - kept the same perceived rhythm/pace as mi 2 & this was, expending more of an effort than I should & could not relax as too worried about cracks in sidewalk or debris on road), looped back & looped around parking lot & then to 200m track in back & ran 5.5 laps in outermost lane (mi 4 - relaxed more, got into a better rhythm but this felt exactly the same as prior 2 mi but was much faster), continued running 3.5 more laps in outside lane (thru 4.5 mi - was in same rhythm & felt strong, at this point heat was really getting to me so decided to stop for 2 min to cool down). Resumed & ran 5.5 laps or 3/4 mi in outside lane (thru 5.25mi - felt stronger. this felt easier & in good rhythm).
