Easy Run

Fast walked & did drills prior. Insanely hot (87 deg) & very humid. Was afraid of heat exhaustion at ~3 mi & heat impacted this run big time. Right hamstring felt the best it has felt in 3-4 weeks (no deep aching, no feeling like I was very weak going up any incline). Ran fr Whole Foods left on Sharon into church & did a loop (mi 1 - legs did not feel "springy", felt sluggish), then ran back to mall parking lot (this was w/breeze but I started to feel "hot" - this felt like same exact pace as mi 1 but clearly was not), left mall parking lot and ran down to Zoe's (mile 3 - this felt slower vs mi 2 but clearly wasn't, began to feel hot in face & head like I had fever, sweating profusely), then did some concentric loops around Zoe's & then behind and over to Panera (mi 4 - felt really hot, my shorts were completely soaked only 4 mi in, tried to run into breeze to cool down), then did some loops around Panera and stopped at 4.6 mi (40 minutes) - felt very hot bordering on heat exhaustion, shorts soaked, shoes soaked, panting like a dog, walked around for 5 minutes as I was extremely concerned abt heat exhaustion. Resumed and felt "dead" - no pain in hamstring but the heat really zapped me - ran up Fairview fr Panera & then forced to stop again at 5.7 mi as I felt uncomfortably hot & completely lost rhythm (could see how dramatically pace had slowed due to heat). Then literally trudged thru final mile - could feel hamstring as I climbed up Fairview, lost all rhythm -- final 1.7 was a Burma death march. My shoes were completely soaked as if I ran thru a lake.
