Easy Run

Lifted, fast walked & did drills prior. Hot (75 deg) but thankfully low humidity but the heat factored in. Started out at HarrisY parking lot, ran two loops & then up Sharon (mi 1 - felt some fatigue & was wearing very cushioned shoes which felt like cement shoes, really focused on maintaining cadence which is challenging in heavy shoes), ran up & then hung left on Sulkirk & then right on Rutherford looping back & left on Sharon to church (mi 2 - kept quick cadence & used core to torque body so this felt "crisp"), continued down Sharon & then up Ashley by Whole Foods & back down to Sharon past BOA (mi 3), ran to Walgrens & then looped back onto Sharon & retraced route & passed by church (mi 4). At this point I felt solid & the work on quick cadence is working as when I do that I run consistent splits (even though it sometimes doesn't feel like that) given the first 4 miles. I then could feel the heat "creeping up" & had to really concentrate on cadence since at times I could feel myself getting out of rhythm & this mile felt really rough (hit mile 5 running by the Y). Ran over to Elementary School & two laps around the parking lot & stopped at 5.5 miles (felt hot, right hamstring began to feel "rubbery"). Ran another two laps around parking lot & then back into Y parking lot.
