Injury Recovery Jog
3 x 2 min, 2 x 2:30 min, 4 x 3 min segments
Have walked fast since Sun increasing distance & speed (to 4 mi yesterday in the high 12 min pace). Each day the tightness in my mid/lower right hamstring would lessen (about 20% p day) - extremely bothersome thru Wed & then I began to notice it significantly lessening. On Tue & Wed when I did running butt kicks would feel discomfort after 5-8, yesterday at 12-14.
Today walked fast 3 mi (12:5+ pace). So stopped by Starbucks on Ashley - did drills (felt better vs prior days & no tightness on running butt kicks). So attempted to "jog" timed segments. #1 felt ok (& weird). On #2 & #3 began to feel slight tightness in hamstring but nothing concerning. Increased time on #4 & #5. When I started #5 my bio-mechanical efficiency increased significantly as I began to "feel" everything & increased time to 3 min & the pace improved. Right at around 20 min began to feel the tightness again so was real conservative. No pain/tightness after so keep fingers crossed.
