LT Tempo

Goal: 3.5 mi @7:12 pace

Actual: Fail! [2.5mi @7:15 pace, 3 min recovery, 1mi @7:16 pace = overall 7:16 pace]

Fitness wise felt ok to start. But when I started, I had hoped to see/feel improvement and that was not to be (again, every time prior when I started back on a workout cycle I would see/feel improvement leaps as I ran similar tempos/intervals on the 2nd and subsequent cycles (usually 5-7 sec p mi) -- but not seeing any of it? Why? Is this lingering injury in my right Psoas/lower abdominal area from Labor worse than I think (left calf is still tight). Did the sinus infection take much more out of me than I thought (and am I still dealing with it)? Ran a LT Tempo 5 weeks ago going 7:15 pace over 3.25 miles (and this was rough, had to really push and disappointed how slow I went). Today I felt that I could run it at 7:19 pace but whenever I dialed up to a higher speed (7:13 pace) it felt like I was pushing outside of my boundary (which means zero improvement). Ran the first mile in 7:15 plus, replicated the effort in mile 2 but towards the end of mile 2 I began to feel tired and started to struggle. I thought I could grind out at least another 1.25 miles but I started to really hurt (legs, upper body) as I got to 2.5 miles (and I could really feel that running at 7:13 pace was taking a lot out of me). Finally stopped at 2.5 miles and very very disappointed (I cranked these LT Tempos out at 6:58 pace last spring going back to when I started 3-4 years ago, but now its like I either gained 20 lbs or became "slow". Very frustrating. After 3 min of recovery -- ran a mile mostly at 7:19 pace (as I did not want to struggle or go to the well -- ran the last 1/10th of a mile at 6:58 pace and this felt like an effort -- again, I recently ran the entire effort at this pace but now I can't). After effort I felt really spent, sweating profusely and began sneezing and then sneezing. Leg lifted after (and began sneezing). Got home after (and began sneezing)?
