Easy Run

Fast walked & did drills prior. Started fr Scarsdale HS (there were probably 30-40 people walking, running, working out on their track). Ran out of HS up to Library & left on 22 into a fierce headwind (mi 1 - felt really terrible after 1/4 mi, felt like I wanted to stop I felt so bad, every muscle fiber felt under stress, could not focus on quick cadence), continued on 22 past Drake (into wind & slight downhill allowed me to focus on quick cadence) but then the hill up to the Boulevard into the wind felt like an effort (mi 2 - legs felt really sore, able to stay in rhythm up hill), ran down into Eastchester & then up the steep hill & left on New Wilmot & then hung a right into Vernon Hills shopping center & ran all the way to the back (mi 3 - got a 2nd wind when I turned into the shopping center, felt in rhythm, in a strong position & quick cadence), U turned in back of shopping center & retraced path & right on New Wilmot & then left on and up Nelson to the Boulevard (mi 4 - felt in good rhythm, felt stronger, this mile involved a 1k climb to the highest point), hung a left on the Boulevard back to 22 and then ran the "roller coaster" down the hill I ran up in mi 2 down past Drake (mi 5 - began to count steps every telephone pole to get back on cadence & felt under control & in a strong position), continued on 22 past HS & left and then in library to add some mileage & then back out & left on Brewster (mi 6 - felt really good & was able to maintain cadence & form), decided to extend to 6.75 mi by running back into HS along Brewster & then 1.5 laps on the 400m mondo track to finish up (all of this into that headwind).
