4 Mile Tempo

Cobert is starting his marathon training, so I tagged along for his first workout. Started this along the Lake. Came down Pinetree Row to Manor Park. Cut through to Miller, which we took down to pick up Acorn backwards. Not the fastest course with some winding sidewalks and a gradually uphill last 2.5 miles.

First 7' were a bit of a shock to my body, and it felt like we were running really fast. Started to settle in afterwards. Coming up Brierwood, Cobert put a bit of space on me, but the lead never opened more than 10-15". Really focused on staying engaged and consistent the second half. Pushed well up Acorn hill and finished strong. After the initial shock, my lungs never felt too strained, the limiting factor was definitely getting my legs moving quick enough. Good place to start, time for consistent workouts.
