Notes

A few months ago, I found a cut through to easily get to Deer Grove from my house, and it's finally been dry enough to give it a shot. Ran south through my neighborhood and crossed Long Grove and Lake-Cook. Found the trail head easy enough, and it was only ~3 miles from my house. Did a big loop of the yellow trail which had me reminiscing of the summer runs with the LZ squad from a few years ago. It was a nice, sunny day and the trees blocked the wind back on the trail. Saw lots of people out walking, and lots of dogs too. I was pretty surprised with how dry the trail was, there was only one half mile stretch that was really muddy. Came back north via Deer Path and extended a bit around the nearby neighborhoods to get up to full mileage. Very happy with this week, hoping to follow it up with another quality week, hoping traveling for work isn't too taxing.

Rolled afterwards.
