My new goal is to run the rest of this year with no injuries. After last week's Wednesday run, I started to hurt again in my left knee with the same pain as earlier. Started thinking maybe running's not for me. I've taken a week off, and the 3 miles today felt good. For a while, I want to hold steady at 3 mile runs about 3 times a week. I really need to evaluate how my knee and IT band holds with those miles for a few months. I'm changing my stretching routine to only mild stretching after the run when the muscles are warmed. I feel like stretching the cold muscles were stressing them, when that's not my intention. Today felt good. The run required some effort, but not too bad, and the post-run routine has helped my legs feel loose and fresh.
